Mr. Joseph David Melvin, Sr., affectionately known as "JD," at the age of 85. JD passed away peacefully at his residence at 1421 Johnsontown Rd, Elizabethtown, NC, on May 22, 2024.

JD leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his beloved wife, Mrs. Minnie Lee Melvin, and their children: Alice (Jane) Autry, Raymond Melvin, Mary Ann Melvin, Aldora Hunter, and Joseph David Melvin, Jr. His presence will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate his life will be held at Pleasant Hill Holiness Church in Elizabethtown, NC on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM, with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Holiness Church Cemetery. A public viewing will be available on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newton Funeral Home Chapel.
