Mr. Charles Devane McDowell, age 64, of 1207 Lewis Street, Elizabethtown, North Carolina, peacefully transitioned on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Bladen County Medical Center in Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

Charles will be remembered for the memories he shared and the life he lived among those who knew and loved him. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, the impact of his life remains in the hearts of his family and friends.

​

Cherished memories of Charles will remain with his loving siblings: two sisters, Mrs. Wanda Grimes and Mrs. Cynthia Green; and one brother, Mr. Warren K. McDowell, along with other relatives and friends who will continue to honor his memory.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of F.W. Newton Funeral Home, 403 Martin Street, Elizabethtown, North Carolina 28337.

Interment will follow at Mt. Zion AME Zion Church Cemetery, Elizabethtown, North Carolina.
