Mr. James William Hopkins, Sr., age 74, of 489 Autrytown Road, Elizabethtown, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2025, at Pam Acute Medical in Nash County, North Carolina.

James was a devoted husband, loving father, caring brother, and faithful friend. His life was marked by humility, hard work, and a steadfast love for his family and community. He had a gentle spirit that touched many lives and left behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and strength. Those who knew him will remember his warm heart, his willingness to help others, and the wisdom he shared with all who crossed his path.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted wife, Mrs. Sandra Hopkins; his son, James William Hopkins, Jr.; and his three daughters, Tamla Powell, Nancy L. Hopkins, and Frances L. Hopkins. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Hopkins, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will continue to honor his memory.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Peters AME Zion Church, 321 Barnes Loop Road, Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

A public viewing will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the F. W. Newton Funeral Home Chapel, 403 Martin Street, Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

​

Interment will follow on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Autry Cemetery, Johnsontown Road, Elizabethtown, North Carolina.
