With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Margie Lee Williams Watson, age 85, of 353 Center Road, Elizabethtown, North Carolina, who peacefully transitioned on October 7, 2025, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.

​

Mrs. Watson was a loving mother, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, and faith left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She devoted her life to her family and to serving others with compassion and grace. Her gentle spirit and warm smile will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

​

She leaves to cherish her memory five beloved children: two daughters, Jeanette Carter and Janine Carter-Evans; and three sons, Charles Evans, Clifton Evans, and Christopher Carter. She is also survived by one sister, Ruby Waller, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Greater McKoy’s Chapel Church, 282 Center Road, Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

​

Public visitation will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the F.W. Newton Funeral Home Chapel, 403 Martin Street, Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

Interment will follow at Lewis Cemetery, Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her love and legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.
